How does Reiki work?
The best answer is: We don't know !!
This may sound highly absurd. But this is the greatest truth. Reiki works with intent, which is focused energy, that expresses a desire to bring more positive energy into one's life, another's life or the whole world. Once this intent is stated, the reiki will flow and one doesn't need to remain concentrated on channeling this healing energy. The universal life-energy enters first the energy system of the healer who passes it on usually with the hands to the one being healed. In the physical body this energy travels through the brain and the nervous system. In our energetical bodies, it travels through the chakras, meridians and the central channel along the spine.
Reiki heals by flowing through the affected parts of the energy field. It charges them with positive energy. It raises the vibration level of the energy field in and around the physical body where negative thoughts and feelings are attached. This causes the negative energy to break apart and fall away. Reiki clears, straightens and heals the energy pathways. Thereby allowing the life force to flow in a healthy and natural way.
It is important to comprehend that reiki does not deplete the giver of energies. It is because the healer does not give from his own rather taps into the universal force. After a treatment both the healer and healed feel charged up.
Another important fact is that reiki heals the symptoms along with it's root cause. This makes reiki a deep healing method. With the passing time and unpredictable effects one consciously doesn't know which part of one's body requires most healing. Reiki does that by healing the affected part of the body first. Usui names reiki 'intuitive' for it is aware where it is needed. Reiki seems to possess its own intelligence and respects one's free will.
The origin, total quantity and ways of working of life-energy are unknown. It cannot be defined more appropriately than stating that it originates from Source, God/Goddess, Spirit or The Force. |
